SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITY

The holiday season brings the warmth and joy of time spent with family and friends, and reminds us of all the gifts that we have in our daily lives. One of the greatest gifts we have is the privilege of helping others. At Graham Company, Actions Matter® and we believe that helping others should be a yearlong pursuit, not just something to be done around the holidays. Taking this to heart, our Charitable Giving Committee spearheaded a myriad of projects throughout all of 2022. As a direct result of their efforts, we have raised money for a variety of local charities and communities in urgent need.

World Central Kitchen
In April, we held our most successful fundraising effort to date: A fundraising competition to benefit those impacted by the war in Ukraine. All proceeds went directly to World Central Kitchen, a not-for-profit non-governmental organization devoted to providing meals in the wake of natural disasters. Working at a 24-hour pedestrian border crossing in southern Poland, WCK began serving hot, nourishing meals within hours of the initial invasion of Ukraine, and continued serving round-the-clock dishes at eight border crossings across the country. With each meal costing only a few dollars, our efforts helped feed thousands of people.

Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
In May, Graham raised money through our Basket Raffle Event for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Man/Woman of the Year Competition. One of our own, Brad Watts, was nominated the Man/Woman of the Year for LLS. This event directly funds critical research in the fight against blood cancers and helps provide outstanding patient services.

MANNA
In September, the Charitable Giving Committee returned to the Metropolitan Area Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance, better known as MANNA, to help prepare medically appropriate meals for those battling serious illnesses such as cancer, renal disease and HIV/AIDS in the Greater Philadelphia area. MANNA bases its meals on the nutrition guidelines set by the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society and other nutrition experts. These meals are lovingly cooked in MANNA’s kitchen by chefs and volunteers. Graham Company volunteers spent two days chopping, dicing and packaging food, enabling MANNA to provide nourishing meals at no cost to their clients.
